Since you were a little girl, you have probably dreamed about what your wedding day would be like. You have imagined the dress, cake, flowers, music – every little detail. Now that you are engaged, the reality of the costs are probably hitting you and you are more than likely concerned about how you are going to pay for everything. Relax! First, set your wedding date several months into the future. This will help you have a good bit of time to plan all the details without tight time constraints. Another benefit of having several months to plan is you will be able to schedule service providers in advance and possibly be able to save on fees.

In order to get everything you desire for your wedding, you will need to shop around. Contact all the florists, photographers, caterers, etc. and get price quotes. Be patient and do not take the first one. By shopping around, you can get good deals.

Consider doing some of the tasks yourself along with your family and friends. Many craft stores offer all the items you would need to create your own invitations, decorations and even wedding favors. This is one area where you can really save a good bit of money. Even if you are not a crafty person, someone in your bridal party probably is.

Ask your friends and family for recommendations. They may have contacts they can call who can offer you cheaper prices. Even better, see if your family and friends can provide the service for you. Enlist them to handle the decorating, catering, videography and photography.

These are just a few examples of what you can do to save money. Give yourself plenty of time and be patient. You can have a dream wedding without spending a fortune!

Getting married is a very big responsibility at the best of times and all of your family and friends want you to have the best possible chance of a very long and happy life together. You do not plan your wedding budget around the needs of your guests.
